AVID JOHN MONAHAN
1947 - 1997

When Through
One Man A Little
More Love And
Goodness, A Little
More Light And
Truth Comes Into
The World, Then
That Man's Life
Has Had Meaning

David J. Monahan, 50, of 23 Bowdoin St. Worcester, died tragically on April 30, 1997 after being hit by a car while walking. He leaves his brothers, William and Robert, a sister Carrol A. Young of Hawaii, 2 nephews and nieces. Born in Worcester, son of William J. and Bridget T. (Clifford) Monahan, he graduated from Assumption Prep. and Assumption College. After a stint as a landscape engineer for the president of Clark University, he worked for another landscaping concern, and was working as an infirmarian at St. Joseph's Abby in Spencer at the time of his passing.

Tributes:

  • After he moved, I didn't see him as often, but whenever I did, it was as if no time had intervened.
  • He would give you the shirt off his back.
    Robert C. Monahan-Brother
  • If you ever had a question about things that grow, he would know. I asked him about a tree that gives off a pleasant smell in the spring. Now I'll always think of him when the Black Locusts flower.
